Artists Statement

Through photography, I capture the art embedded in our everyday environment. Whether in organic or man-made settings, both contribute to the essence of our world. Their dynamic interplay shapes our visual and conceptual experiences. I explore these contrasts by focusing on the formal qualities of my subjects, creating images that offer a fresh perspective on the ordinary and highlight the dualities between the natural and the artificial.

I seek natural light to illuminate and create shifting shadows as I compose my images. Whether capturing a wide vista or a close-up, my goal is to uncover the art within the subject. I’m drawn to the patterns and geometry of man-made structures, as well as the vitality of nature. I explore the connection between the organic and inorganic, not only through their arrangement in our surroundings but also through the shadows they cast upon one another and the reflections they produce- aware that these moments are fleeting. I am constantly inspired by Saul Leiter’s words: “A photographer’s gift to the viewer is sometimes beauty in the overlooked ordinary.”
