Janet Roller-Schmidt is a Chicago-based artist and educator, with training in both painting and photography. Through her photography, she captures the world around her with a fresh perspective, inviting viewers to see the extraordinary in the ordinary. Janet discovers beauty in architecture, spaces, and natural surroundings, as well as in the people and animals that inhabit them. Her work reflects the fleeting, transient nature of life, seeking to transcend the mundane and unveil a distinctive vision.

She holds a Master of Arts in Painting from New York University, Master of Arts in Education from Concordia University, a Professional Certificate in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University. Her work has been exhibited both in the United States and abroad.
